Here's a step-by-step guide to how I achieve the perfect custom fit for you.
**** Please note: With the closure of Joann’s- Fabrics, sourcing the perfect fabric has moved to predominately online ordering. For custom pieces or alterations where fabric is needed, I now require an additional 3-week window for the ordering/shipping of fabrics. ****
Step 1: In-Person Meeting – Measurement, Collaboration, and Fitting
Initial Consultation & Measurement
Your journey with us begins with an in-person meeting. This initial consultation is a crucial part of our process. Here, we discuss your needs, preferences, and the vision for your garment. I take comprehensive measurements to ensure that each piece is crafted to fit your exact dimensions.
I believe that the best results come from collaboration. During this first meeting, we'll explore styles, clothing materials, and the overall look you desire. Whether it's a wedding gown alteration, a bespoke jacket, or a custom cosplay costume, I tailor my approach to meet your specific requirements. I will then begin the initial construction!
Step 2: First Fitting
Once I get to a spot in construction with the base garment, I will have you come in for a fitting. This is an opportunity to try on a preliminary version of your garment. It allows me to make real-time adjustments and ensures that every aspect of the fit and design aligns with your expectations.
Step 3: Alterations
Based on the feedback and observations from the first fitting, I make detailed alterations to your garment. I use my expert craftsmanship to adjust seams, hems, and other elements to achieve your desired fit and look. This step may involve several adjustments to perfect the garment's contours and comfort.
Step 4: Try-On / Second Fitting
Final Adjustments
Once the alterations are complete, I invite you back for a second fitting. This is your opportunity to try on the adjusted garment and evaluate the fit. During this stage, I pay close attention to your feedback and make any final tweaks required. It's crucial for us that you feel confident and comfortable in your custom-tailored piece.
Final Approval
The final fitting is not just about ensuring a perfect fit; it's about confirming that the garment meets all your expectations in style, comfort, and function. Once you give your final approval, I prepare the garment for your collection.
Pricing - How much will it cost?
The cost of custom projects is determined by time and materials.
Your first consultation (up to 30 minutes) which can include initial measuring are complimentary.
My hourly rate is $30/hr, ensuring you receive personalized attention and precision with every stitch.
